Herdshare
Amber Interviewed Multiple Platforms—Farmhand Was the Only Fit for Herdshares
Amber Arriaga · Our Family Farms
Farmhand runs the agreements, the deposits, the drop sites, the add-ons, and the dry weeks — so your morning starts at the barn instead of the spreadsheet.
Fifteen minutes with Ari, our founder and a farmer.
“I kind of had maxed out, not in terms of the products that I could provide, but in terms of the managing that I could do of that.”

How it actually works
Every farm on this page has the same number in their phone. They text what they need, a person on our team does it, and texts back.

Everything Farmhand runs
Farmhand runs herdshares, creamery clubs, and licensed raw dairies — including some of the largest herdshare operations in the country. Consent, part-ownership, jar deposits, dry weeks: none of it came from a roadmap. It came from farmers on the phone.
Marketing
Sell shares, fill drop sites, and move the surplus — from the same place you run the herd.

Word of mouth carried Katie to a thousand members. Dallas took more than that — a landing page, a Meta ad strategy, and a referral card dropped in every box. She’s past 2,600 members now.

Billing
Bill boarding fees, collect what’s owed, and stop tracking payments by hand.
Nicole had six cows and fifty-odd members when the follow-ups and payment tracking started taking more of her week than the milking. She grew past a hundred members inside two months without adding an hour of admin.

Fulfillment
Load one truck, run one route, and keep everyone waiting on it informed.

Amber opened with six hundred people already waiting. Drop sites, pickup windows, and jar returns all had to work on day one, because the demand did not arrive gradually.

Support
Send us the change and get back to the herd.
We are with Farmhand and have been very satisfied. A lot cheaper than Barn2Door and it’s like having your own assistant to help with customer communications and fixing or adding orders plus help with our newsletter.

Compliance
Get every shareowner signed, and keep the agreement current as your state changes.
Every shareowner signs before the first jar leaves the farm.

Operations Calculator
Chasing jars, rebuilding the member list every season, working out who paid. None of it shows up on a statement. The Operations Calculator puts a number on those hours and shows you what they are worth.

Making the switch
You talk to Ari, our founder, not a sales rep. He walks through what your shares, routes, and members would look like on Farmhand. No pitch deck.
We move your members, shares, deposits, fulfillment settings, and website. We will build you a site if you do not have one. You do not touch a spreadsheet.
Members migrated, signup page live, first newsletter queued, routes optimized. We are on call seven days a week if anything comes up.
“The transition was way easier than I expected. It was done in days.” Nicole, Moe Acres
Questions
Yes. A share can run on a calendar month so every member is charged on the same date, or on a weekly, two-week, or four-week rhythm counted from the day they sign up. Tell Ari which one your farm runs on and he will set it that way.
No. We migrate members, balances, deposits, and recurring shares. Every member gets a welcome guide, a login, and support from our team.
Most farms are fully migrated in under two weeks. We do the heavy lifting and you keep milking.
Most farms pay between $80 and $200 a month, and many save money by dropping the separate routing, email, and SMS tools they were paying for on top of an old platform.
Electronic consent is collected at signup with compliance-friendly language you can edit to match your state. Members become shareowners before the first pickup. You own the wording and your own compliance.
Shares go on hold for the dry stretch, so nobody is billed for milk they are not getting and nobody has to cancel. Members hear it in one send, and shares resume on the dates you set when the herd freshens, with agreements and balances intact.
Yes. Credits apply without manual tracking, including for cash and offline payments, and members see a live balance in their portal.
Yes. We will connect you with Lucy, Katie, Nicole, Amber, or a farm near you that has already moved.
All handled. Sell them as weekly extras, seasonal bundles, or member-only offers. One checkout, one portal, one packing list.
Ari is our founder and a farmer. He will walk through your shares, your drop sites, and your dry-off calendar, and tell you straight whether Farmhand fits how your operation actually runs.
